Each election I prepare a slate card for my friends so we can debate how to vote here in San Francisco (and beyond). Here\u2019s what I have so far, based on the ballot I received in the mail, various organizational endorsements, and an online discussion with local activists\u2026 I\u2019d love your input (I\u2019ll post comments people submit to me below)\u2013 <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Elected Offices<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n US President\/Vice President: Joseph Biden\/Kamala Harris<\/p>\n\n\n\n US Representative, District 12: No vote (I was going to protest vote for Buttar against Pelosi, but there is scandal with Buttar)<\/p>\n\n\n\n State Senator, District 11: Jackie Fielder<\/p>\n\n\n\n State Assembly, District 17: Starchild (as protest vote against David Chiu)<\/p>\n\n\n\n Board of Education (no more than 4): Community College Board (no more than 4): BART Director, District 9: Bevan Dufty<\/p>\n\n\n\n Board of Supervisors, District 9: Hillary Ronen<\/p>\n\n\n\n California Propositions<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n 14: No<\/p>\n\n\n\n *15: Yes (most important measure on the ballot IMHO, tax commercial property worth over $3M at current values, leaves unchanged the exemption to value-based tax increases for residential property and commercial property under $3M)<\/p>\n\n\n\n 16: Yes<\/p>\n\n\n\n 17: Yes<\/p>\n\n\n\n 18: Yes<\/p>\n\n\n\n 19: No<\/p>\n\n\n\n 20: No<\/p>\n\n\n\n 21: Yes<\/p>\n\n\n\n *22: No (don’t let “gig” mega-corporations carve out special exemptions to California\/federal employment law, spending $180 million plus on campaigning that could have gone to employee benefits)<\/p>\n\n\n\n 23: Yes<\/p>\n\n\n\n 24: No<\/p>\n\n\n\n 25: No (I support getting rid of money bail system, just not like this… don’t use algorithms… this particular measure could actually increase pre-trial detentions)<\/p>\n\n\n\n Regional Proposition<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n RR: Yes<\/p>\n\n\n\n San Francisco Propositions<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n A: Yes<\/p>\n\n\n\n B: Yes<\/p>\n\n\n\n C: Yes<\/p>\n\n\n\n D: Yes<\/p>\n\n\n\n E: Yes<\/p>\n\n\n\n F: Yes<\/p>\n\n\n\n G: Yes<\/p>\n\n\n\n H: No<\/p>\n\n\n\n *I: Yes (tax wealthy real estate owners a bit)<\/p>\n\n\n\n *J: Yes (support teachers and prevent potential lawsuit clawback of previously spent education funds)<\/p>\n\n\n\n *K: Yes (removes legal obstacle to city-built affordable housing)<\/p>\n\n\n\n *L: Yes (reverse income inequality)<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Each election I prepare a slate card for my friends so we can debate how to vote here in San Francisco (and beyond).
